Introducing LocalPop: A Global Game of Spy vs Cops

🎯 Introducing LocalPop — A Global Game of Spy vs Cops

LocalPop is a multiplayer web game of strategy, deduction, and teamwork. Inspired by Scotland Yard, it’s designed to be played asynchronously on Reddit, with players voting on moves as they chase (or escape) across a world map.

Each match puts one player in the role of Jason (the spy), while two others become Agent Abbott and Agent Noah—the cops working together to track him down.

🌍 How It Works

  • Asynchronous Multiplayer: Players join teams and vote every 15 minutes on the next move. The most voted move is played automatically.
  • Unique Maps Every Game: Each session generates a new map with global city connections, ensuring a fresh experience each time.
  • Hidden and Revealed Turns: The spy’s location is revealed every 5th turn, keeping detectives guessing and planning carefully.
  • City Network: Major cities act as hubs and are fully connected. Other cities connect to the nearest hub, with some extra links for complexity.
  • Game Structure: Games last 8 rounds, with each player moving once per round.
